The California High-Speed Rail Authority is seeking proposals for as-needed goat grazing services. The services will be performed on Authority-owned properties located in Madera, Fresno, Kern, Kings, and Tulare counties. The contract term is from August 1, 2026, through July 31, 2028, with an option to extend for an additional twelve months. The scope of work includes providing livestock, fencing, transportation, hydration, labor, tools, materials, equipment, and all other necessary costs for goat grazing services. Key responsibilities for the contractor include providing sufficient livestock to graze two separate locations simultaneously, possessing a valid Motor Carrier Permit for livestock transport, ensuring livestock are tagged and healthy, providing portable electric fencing, water troughs, and water, maintaining adequate fire suppression equipment on-site, and achieving 85% vegetation grazing. The contractor must also remove any vegetation touching the electrified fence line and ensure sufficient vegetation remains to prevent soil erosion. The contractor is responsible for the timely retrieval of any escaped animals and proper disposal of any livestock that perish during grazing.
