The Department of the Air Force, through the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC), is issuing a Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) to solicit innovative commercial items, technologies, and services. This initiative aims to fulfill requirements, close capability gaps, and provide technological advancements in areas such as IT modernization, cybersecurity, data analytics, and AI capabilities. The AFIMSC serves as a hub for innovation, connecting Airmen with resources to transform ideas into reality and fostering collaboration with a diverse range of industry partners. Solutions may be selected for prototyping, testing, demonstration, and deployment, contributing to the growth of the non-traditional defense contractor ecosystem. This CSO utilizes a streamlined acquisition process under DFARS Subpart 212.70, allowing for competitive procurement of commercial items. The solicitation process may involve multiple spirals, including solution videos, written briefs, presentations, and potentially a commercial solution proposal. Key areas of interest include optimizing IT portfolios, reducing costs, enhancing governance, securing systems, and accelerating data maturity. Vendors are expected to demonstrate expertise in areas such as IT portfolio application rationalization, cybersecurity (including RMF and ATO processes), software development (with experience in Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, and SharePoint), and functional/business systems analysis, particularly for systems like EESOH-MIS. AI and advanced analytics enablement is also a critical requirement. Specific Areas of Interest (AoIs) are being posted under this CSO, including "Optimizing AFCEC CE IT Portfolio: Strengthening Systems for Global Operations" and "Air Force Civil Engineering Center Business Systems Modernization." These AoIs focus on modernizing legacy business systems, improving data quality, enhancing cybersecurity, and enabling AI capabilities to support Air Force installations. Vendors must be prepared to address requirements related to cloud enablement, data integration, and lifecycle management. Some AoIs may require Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmental Information clearances.
