Oregon State University (OSU) is establishing a Reserve Contracting Program to identify experienced instructors for its Professional & Continuing Education Courses (PACE) program. This program aims to build a pool of qualified part-time instructors with expertise in a wide range of subjects, including business, technology, management, and more. Ideal candidates will possess strong knowledge and professional experience in their area of expertise, formal or informal teaching experience, and the ability to develop lesson plans. Acceptance into the Reserve Contracting Program signifies prequalification and does not guarantee a contract; contracts will be issued on a case-by-case basis as projects arise. The program emphasizes facilitation, interactive learning, and well-defined, measurable assessments. Instructors are expected to create engaging learning environments, foster student interaction, and provide timely feedback. Required qualifications include knowledge and professional experience in a specialty area, a degree in the appropriate field, teaching experience, lesson plan development skills, and classroom facilitation abilities. A Master's degree is preferred for some technical disciplines but may be waived with equivalent experience. The Reserve Contracting Program is open from April 2022 to March 2027, with a potential for a five-year renewal. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis.
