Description
The Canadian Museum of Nature is seeking a Canadian architecture firm, with multidisciplinary expertise, to conduct a feasibility study for redeveloping the East Wing first floor and associated plaza at the Victoria Memorial Museum Building. The study must assess existing conditions, accessibility, visitor flow and experience, operational requirements, audience needs, market and economic opportunities, heritage and regulatory considerations, and potential commercial functions such as the café or restaurant, museum shop, and outdoor plaza. The consultant must develop at least three redevelopment scenarios, conceptual plans and visual representations, preliminary capital cost estimates, economic and cost-benefit analyses, implementation and phasing considerations, stakeholder consultations, and a final decision-support report and executive presentation. Deliverables include digital and hard copies of plans and supporting materials, as well as editable source files. The proposal must demonstrate bilingual English/French capacity, relevant museum or public-building experience, a multidisciplinary team, and three comparable projects completed within the last seven years. Proposals are limited to 40 pages excluding CVs, and the financial proposal must include a lump-sum price and detailed cost breakdown. The selected bidder must provide or obtain a valid reliability-level security clearance.
