Description
Beaufort County is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors to resurface two convenience centers. The work includes mobilization; site preparation, cleaning, and surface repair; milling and disposal of existing pavement; placement and compaction of 2-inch Intermediate 'C' and 2-inch Surface 'C' asphalt; pavement striping and marking; site cleanup and restoration; and coordination of third-party testing. The centers must remain operational to the maximum extent possible, with work areas safely barricaded or sectioned to preserve public access and minimize disruption. The bid documents identify approximately 54,826 square feet at Bluffton Convenience Center and 15,118 square feet at St. Helena Convenience Center. Contractors must submit a proposed schedule with the bid, complete the work within 120 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, and provide the required pre-award small and minority business participation materials unless self-performing 100% of the work. A 5% bid bond is required with the electronic bid; performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract amount, are required if awarded.
