Description
The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), requires one upgraded 7T MRI gradient coil. The current coil is insufficient for the lab's needs, compromising data integrity and statistical power for ongoing research. This upgrade is essential for continuing vital psychoneuroscience studies. The upgraded coil must be mechanically compatible with the existing Bruker 7T/30cm magnet, installable through the front bore, and have a clear bore diameter greater than 17cm. It must also be compatible with the Fujifilm/PCI gradient amplifier and seamlessly interface with the current 6-channel shim power supply. Key performance requirements include a minimum gradient strength of 450 mT/m and a slew rate of 1800 T/m/s, with negligible eddy current effects. The coil must also integrate fully and operate stably with the existing triple loop heat exchanger under specified water pressure and coolant temperature conditions. Delivery is to NIH/NIMH, 49 Convent Dr., Rm. B2-102, Bethesda, MD 20892.
