Description
The City of Rochester is soliciting bids for four separate lump-sum contracts—general, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction—to replace the arena’s ice plant. The work includes constructing a new refrigeration room, installing a new ammonia refrigeration plant and cooling tower, providing associated mechanical, plumbing, and electrical infrastructure, and demolishing the existing R-22 refrigeration plant. The mechanical contract includes a base bid for screw compressors and an alternate for reciprocating compressors. Bidders must submit a complete hard-copy proposal in a sealed envelope; electronic bids are not accepted. The bid package includes conditional apprenticeship documentation, M/WBE participation forms and any applicable waiver request, workforce-goal certification, a New York State contractor registry certificate, and a separate sealed subcontractor list required by the Wicks Law. A bid bond is required for bids of $100,000 or more; performance and payment bonds and insurance certificates are due after award. The project has a 548-calendar-day completion period measured from the Notice to Proceed.
