Description
Berwyn North School District 98 is seeking a managed fiber-optic Wide Area Network connecting five sites through Lincoln Middle School as the headend. The requested WAN includes four 10-Gbps school-site connections, managed routers or equivalent metropolitan equipment, turnkey design, installation, construction, permits, right-of-way coordination, and service to each building’s main distribution frame. Cloud-based proposals must provide a minimum 30-Gbps headend. Vendors must provide 3-year and 5-year managed-lease pricing, a network design drawing, typical managed-lease and maintenance contracts, service-level details, and support information. Installation is expected after July 1, 2027, for E-rate purposes. The district is also seeking renewed fiber Internet service terminating at Lincoln Middle School, with 1-, 2-, and 3-year options. Proposals must identify eligible and ineligible products or services separately, include the vendor’s SPIN, comply with E-rate and USAC requirements, and provide the Lowest Corresponding Price. Evaluation emphasizes cost, reliability, service, incumbent status, and a Chicago-area point of presence. Vendors must provide at least three relevant Illinois or Chicago-area references and maintain 99.99% minimum uptime. Required insurance includes at least $1,000,000 each for comprehensive liability and workers’ compensation coverage; the certificate is required upon contract award.
