The City of Newnan, through the Newnan Urban Redevelopment Agency (NURA), is seeking qualified general contractors to construct new homes and perform repairs and rehabilitation on residential properties. This initiative is funded by a $4.6 million Congressionally Directed Spending Request from the FY2023 Federal Budget. The new construction units will be sold to low-, moderate-, and middle-income families. Contractors will bid on specific projects, with contracts awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The scope of work includes electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, roofing, flooring, cabinetry, and landscaping. Contractors must hold a current Georgia general contractor license, be in good standing with the state, possess a business license, and maintain adequate insurance. Experience in HUD-related programs is also required.
