Description
This Request for Information/Sources Sought notice concerns a potential Firm-Fixed-Price commercial contract for commercial ship repair facilities to establish and demonstrate an organizational Welding Procedure Specification for naval applications, complete the associated Procedure Qualification Record and Test and Inspection Verification Sheet, and provide a sustained business and availability plan. The work must comply with LWT 042-001, AWS-NAVSEA B2.1-1-302:2015, NAVSEA welding qualification requirements, and related military standards. The draft scope includes procuring certified ABS Grade A steel plate and E7018-A1 electrodes; machining and welding a test assembly; performing visual, radiographic, and magnetic-particle nondestructive testing; submitting welder, procedure, material, and inspection documentation; and delivering the certified welding procedure package. Respondents should demonstrate commercial ship repair experience, an MSRA or ABR, contractor-owned facilities and equipment, regular employee welders, NDT capabilities, relevant past performance, geographic response capability, a ROM cost or high-level FFP structure, and proposed timelines. Responses are limited to 10 pages and may be submitted in PDF or Microsoft Word format. This is market research only and is not a formal solicitation or commitment to award a contract.
