Description
The project expands the IT and communications room at Ionia Correctional Facility. Construction includes demolition and renovation of existing rooms, new fire-rated masonry walls and doors, floor sealing and painting, and installation of new ceiling-mounted air-conditioning units and roof-mounted condensers. The work also includes replacing the existing wet sprinkler protection in the IT room with a clean-agent fire-suppression system and modifying related fire-alarm systems. Electrical work includes a new 40 kVA UPS, transformers, panels, receptacles, lighting, and associated wiring. Communications work includes new racks, cable ladders, rack protection, power distribution units, fiber and Category 6 cabling, splicing, equipment and cable relocation, terminations, testing, and transition of existing systems to the new room. The contractor must coordinate cutovers to maintain system operations and provide required testing and closeout documentation.
