Description
Ocean County is soliciting a contractor for Phase 2 reconstruction and widening of approximately 0.6 miles of Cross Street, County Route 626, from Prospect Street to Augusta Boulevard in Lakewood Township. The work includes roadway reconstruction, drainage and stormwater management improvements, utility relocations and coordination, traffic control, paving, curbs, sidewalks and driveways, signage, pavement markings, landscaping, erosion and sediment controls, and related excavation and site restoration. The project also includes installation and activation of a new traffic signal system at Cross Street and Prospect Street, including signal foundations, controller and generator auxiliary cabinets, battery backup and UPS equipment, radar detection, pedestrian push buttons, signal heads, mast-arm signs, conduits, wiring, testing, and coordination with utilities and railroad preemption facilities. Bids must be submitted electronically through the County's OpenGov Electronic Bid Portal; paper or multiple submissions will be rejected. A proposal guarantee of at least 10% of the total bid, capped at $20,000, is required, along with evidence of the ability to furnish performance and payment bonds when a cashier's or certified check is used. The work must be completed within 242 calendar days, with a winter shutdown anticipated between December 15 and March 1.
