Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) is seeking to procure eight (8) insulated, all-inclusive hydroponic farm boxes. These units must be capable of growing a minimum of 6,000 pounds of leafy greens annually and 650 heads of lettuce weekly, with controls to monitor and identify deficiencies in temperature, water, pH, and nutrient levels. The contractor will be responsible for delivery via crane to eight different locations across the United States, including final placement on a provided concrete pad, and all associated costs. Each unit will require site-specific modifications for security within a correctional environment, with the FBOP requesting quotes for any additional scope. The contract includes on-site training of up to eight hours per location within 30 days of delivery, covering setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, harvesting, cleaning, food safety, and nutrient management. Resource materials and procedure manuals must also be provided. The period of performance shall not exceed twelve months from the date of the Notice to Proceed for the first location. The contractor must provide a Project Manager and ensure all personnel pass an NCIC background check. The contract includes a one-year warranty on the hydroponic farm box and all internal components.
