Description
The United Nations Development Programme in Nigeria seeks qualified local implementing partner(s) to deliver a community-based clean cooking and sustainable biomass value-chain initiative in Abia and Akwa Ibom States. The scope includes procurement and distribution of up to 10,000 clean cookstoves; community engagement and beneficiary orientation; establishment and operation of a biomass briquette and pellet production facility using agricultural residues and agro-processing waste; equipment commissioning; feedstock management; quality assurance; storage, packaging, occupational health and safety, environmental safeguards, and commercialization. The selected partner must also provide capacity development, including practical training for local operators and enterprises, a reusable capacity development guide, business and market-development support, monitoring and reporting, and implementation and sustainability planning. Eligible applicants include legally registered companies, NGOs, CSOs, and CBOs with authority to operate in Nigeria, at least five years of relevant institutional experience, and the ability to mobilize in Abia and/or Akwa Ibom. The contract duration is five months until project closeout, with an expected commencement in October 2026. Proposals use a two-envelope process, with technical and financial submissions uploaded separately through the supplier portal; financial proposals are evaluated only after technical qualification.
