Greene County Tech School District (GCTSD) in Paragould, Arkansas, has developed a plan for the use of American Rescue Plan Act Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ARP ESSER) funds. The plan focuses on two main areas: creating safe and healthy learning environments, and addressing lost instructional time due to COVID-19. For safe environments, the district will implement prevention and mitigation strategies, including purchasing PPE ($2,500), supporting student mental health through a virtual student coordinator ($130,454.99) and tri-regional virtual program ($40,000), and purchasing buses with better HVAC to reduce transmission ($347,300). To address learning loss, the district will invest in evidence-based interventions such as reading interventionists ($65,378.37), math and literacy instruction ($95,010.77), before/after school tutoring ($102,561.62), summer tutoring program ($50,407.18), and technology equipment ($491,122.55).
