Description
The City of Charlottetown is seeking quotations to hire one or more tandem dump trucks for hauling snow from city streets during the 2026–2027 winter season. Trucks will be loaded on city streets by industrial blowers, transport snow to a yard in or near the city, and return for additional loads on an as-needed basis during storm events. The anticipated usage is approximately 10–20 trucks for small events and 30–40 trucks for large events, although quantities may vary. Each truck must meet specified capacity, registration, equipment, and operating requirements, including tandem rear axles, a minimum 430-cubic-foot box, registration for at least 18,000 kg, and compliance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements. The quoted hourly rate must include the vehicle, an experienced and qualified operator, fuel, registration, maintenance, repairs, and other incidentals. Vendors must provide required insurance documentation, including commercial general liability coverage of at least CAD 2,000,000 per occurrence, and may be required to make equipment available for inspection. Selection will be based primarily on compliance and quoted price, with trucks called in from the lowest-priced submissions as needed.
