Description
The City is soliciting construction bids to widen approximately 2.64 miles of road, including three-lane and five-lane sections. Work includes grading, paving, curb and gutter, underground drainage, a shared-use path, sidewalks, pavement markings, erosion and traffic control, and installation or modification of water, gas, sanitary sewer, traffic signals, and roadway lighting. The bid schedule contains extensive unit-price items and quantities. A bid must include bid security equal to 5% of the bidder's maximum bid price. The bid book also includes a signature sheet, bid form, bid schedule, bid bond form, and qualifications statement. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is mandatory to submit a bid. The project documents state that no estimated total bid price or expected duration has been determined; the agreement nevertheless specifies completion periods of 1,613 days for substantial completion and 1,643 days for final completion after contract times commence.
