Description
The Township of Middletown is soliciting bids for improvements to Kings Highway between New Monmouth Road and Route 35. The work includes approximately 17,048 square yards of asphalt milling, 2,052 tons of hot-mix asphalt surface course, pavement repairs, joint adhesive, tack coat, concrete sidewalks and driveways, concrete curbs, curb ramps and detectable warning surfaces, drainage work, traffic striping and markings, erosion and sediment controls, traffic control devices, and installation of light fixtures and wiring. The contractor must complete the work within 120 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, with substantial completion required within 90 days. The project is subject to New Jersey and federal prevailing-wage requirements, federal-aid construction provisions, Buy America requirements, insurance requirements, and bid-security requirements. A bid guarantee equal to 10% of the bid, capped at $20,000, is required; performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the awarded bid are required after award.
