Description
The U.S. Army is seeking innovative solutions to modify or replace a custom 60-ton, four-cylinder hydraulic recuperator press. The work includes replacing obsolete parts; adding four load cells with summation and closed-loop control; providing operator displays for load, distance, pneumatic pressure, and differential pressure; configurable alarm limits; and storage and retrieval of at least 2,500 time-stamped test reports. The contractor must design, manufacture, deliver, install, and demonstrate the equipment and provide comprehensive operator and maintenance training. The press must ramp from 0 to 20,000 pounds within the specified load tolerance and support pneumatic loads up to 250 psig within the specified pressure tolerance. The contractor must identify the country of origin for all proposed equipment and comply with the Trade Agreements Act. A voluntary site visit is scheduled, and submissions are evaluated on technical and innovative merit, delivery and lifecycle sustainment, and price and funds availability.
