Description
The University of Calgary intends to purchase a TA Instruments Discovery DSC250 Differential Scanning Calorimeter from Waters Limited for its Civil Engineering laboratory. The procurement includes Thermal and Rubotherm installation and training, a Tzero Press and Die Sets Kit, and an Academic Support Plan. The equipment will replace an aging DSC Q100 and support research involving neat and modified asphalt materials, asphalt modifiers, and material ageing. The laboratory requires measurement sensitivity, baseline performance, signal separation, heat-flow measurement, modulation, compatibility, and workflow capabilities for weak, broad, or overlapping thermal events. The notice states that the Discovery DSC250 is the only known system meeting the University's complete combination of mandatory requirements.
