Description
Contract 25-01 includes construction of a new sludge dewatering building with equipment and a new boiler/electrical building; renovations to the existing Dystor unit and sludge drying beds; demolition of existing facilities; and site piping, grading, and restoration. The construction period is 540 calendar days, with liquidated damages of $1,000 per calendar day for non-completion. The successful bidder must provide performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract price. A mandatory pre-bid conference is required, and prospective bidders must submit pre-qualification information at that meeting. This includes evidence of similar projects valued at least $5 million and completed within the previous 10 years, descriptions of lawsuits or claims from that period, the number of directly employed staff, and resumes or descriptions of the proposed project manager and superintendent. The solicitation states a resident-bidder preference under Kentucky law.
