Description
This construction project covers HMA resurfacing of various streets within the City of Spring Valley, Illinois. The work includes two-inch HMA surface removal and butt-joint removal, HMA binder and surface courses, sidewalk removal and replacement with four-inch Portland cement concrete sidewalk, red cast-in-place detectable warnings, curb and gutter removal and replacement, restoration and seeding, and related pavement work. Additional work includes adjusting manholes, inlets, and water valve boxes; providing traffic control while maintaining traffic flow; notifying city departments before work; resident notifications; regulated-substance monitoring and disposal when applicable; and compliance with applicable Illinois Department of Transportation specifications, prevailing-wage requirements, insurance provisions, and disadvantaged-business-enterprise provisions. Prequalification is required, including the City of Spring Valley's HMA paving prequalification requirement of up to 6,000 tons in one contract. The project must be completed and ready for final payment by December 1, 2026.
