Description
Washington School District 52 is soliciting competitive proposals for a successor lease of four existing, continuous strands of single-mode dark fiber connecting Washington Middle School and Lincoln Grade School. The infrastructure is already installed, terminated, and integrated into the district’s network; no construction, route design, engineering survey, maintenance and operations, or special construction is requested. The provider will lease the unlit fiber strands, while the district will supply and operate the optical equipment. Proposals must include fixed pricing for both five-year and ten-year service terms beginning July 1, 2027, and must also provide comparative lit-fiber pricing for 1 Gbps, 2 Gbps, and 5 Gbps options over both terms. Lit-fiber pricing must include provider-owned electronics for an active Ethernet handoff. Bidders must complete and sign Addendum A as the first page, provide a valid 498 ID (SPIN), identify eligible and ineligible costs, provide the Lowest Corresponding Price, and agree to SPI or BEAR payment options. Price is the primary evaluation factor, followed by technical compliance, experience, E-Rate capability, and service-center proximity.
