Description
This Request for Information is for market research only and is not a solicitation for a contract. The Navy seeks information from maritime and ship repair contractors on commercially stocked Japanese base metals and welding consumables that may align with NAVSEA welding qualification requirements, including suggested material groupings and applicable JIS or other specification sheets. Optional responses may describe shipboard uses of the materials. The Navy also seeks information on existing welding procedure qualification records and commercial certifications, plus documentation of welder qualification systems, welding-consumable controls, and production-welding oversight, inspection, quality control, and nondestructive testing. Responses may address either or both research areas. The attached material-suggestions worksheet may be used; responses may be submitted in Word, Excel, or PDF, in English or Japanese. Proprietary material should be clearly marked “PROPRIETARY.”
