Description
Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation is seeking qualified electrical and portable-generator contractors to provide a complete backup-power solution for the 65,000-square-foot Eastern Washtenaw Community Recreation Center. The scope includes design and construction coordination; portable generator rental or purchase options ranging from 500 kW to 1,500 kW; cabling, distribution equipment, controls, fuel systems, and building-electrical integration; delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, operator training, documentation, preventive maintenance, load-bank testing, fueling, and 24/7 emergency deployment and support. The anticipated requirement is approximately 1,500 kW, subject to confirmation after construction completion. Proposals must address generator specifications, deployment and availability guarantees, rental and purchase scenarios, transparent line-item pricing, qualifications, three similar customer references, insurance and contract provisions, and local-vendor preference documentation. The initial contract term is two years with an option to renew for an additional two years. The project is associated with a facility planned for occupancy in early 2028, with coordination and planning anticipated throughout 2027.
