Description
Atlantic County is soliciting bids from vendors with at least three years of wireless communications experience to lease space on county-owned communications towers. The opportunity covers four tower sites in Mays Landing, Northfield, and Egg Harbor Township. Bidders may use existing towers or propose new towers; proposed installations must comply with FCC, state, federal, and applicable building-code requirements, avoid interference with county communications systems, and include required engineering, permitting, installation, maintenance, and as-built documentation. The initial contract term begins on or about December 1, 2026, and runs for five years, with up to three additional five-year renewal terms by agreement with the county. The successful bidder will pay a flat monthly license fee or commission, with a minimum monthly commission of $2,500 per tower category; a $5,800 amount is added to the monthly commission for evaluation when a new tower is proposed. Bid security is 10% of the total bid, capped at $20,000. A performance bond is required before work begins when a new tower is constructed or alterations exceeding $2,500 are performed. Insurance requirements include workers' compensation, general liability, automobile liability, and umbrella/excess liability coverage, with the county named as an additional insured.
