The Monterey Peninsula Airport District is seeking one qualified proposer to lease, design, build out, manage, and operate an approximately 550-square-foot retail, news, and gift concession in the secure side of Monterey Regional Airport's replacement terminal. The concession must provide non-food goods and/or services, operate from checkpoint opening through the close of boarding for the last departing flight, and maintain pricing generally no more than 15% above comparable Monterey-region products. The selected operator will be responsible for tenant finishes, furnishings, fixtures, equipment, signage, utilities and related development costs, as well as required airport security compliance, staffing, permits, licenses, insurance, and bonding. Proposals must include a cover letter, qualifications and experience, business plan, development plan, financial capability information, insurance information, and any requested exceptions. The agreement is expected to have a three-year term, with rent based on the greater of minimum rent or a percentage of gross sales.
