Description
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service requires a contractor to conduct comprehensive bird surveys at the Red Slough Wildlife Management Area in southeastern Oklahoma. This area is a 5,814-acre wetland project focused on restoring hydrology and re-establishing bottomland hardwoods, cooperatively managed by the USDA Forest Service, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. The purpose of these surveys is to monitor the effects of management practices on bird populations. The contractor must possess expertise in identifying all bird species in Southeast Oklahoma by sight and sound. The contract is anticipated to be a firm-fixed-price agreement with a one-year base period and four one-year option periods, not to exceed five years in total duration. Surveys will occur weekly, with a focus on waterfowl during the period of October 28, 2026, through January 26, 2027. A final comprehensive report segmented into seasonal categories (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer) will be required.
