Description
The U.S. Embassy Tripoli Public Affairs Section (PAS) is announcing funding availability through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. This Annual Program Statement outlines funding priorities and procedures for submitting grant requests. The program aims to foster capacity building, community engagement, social good, and mutual understanding between the people of Libya and the United States. Priority will be given to projects that leverage arts initiatives for unity and reconciliation, promote leadership and skills development among youth and underserved communities, and enhance youth capabilities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) for social problem-solving. Projects addressing climate change mitigation are also highly encouraged. Alumni of U.S. Government funded exchange programs are particularly encouraged to apply, as are initiatives supporting diversity and inclusion, and those linking with U.S. universities or organizations. Eligibility extends to a wide range of organizations including civil-society organizations, local representatives of civil society, think tanks, non-governmental organizations, cultural institutions, and academic institutions, as well as individuals, provided they have non-profit status. While U.S. NGOs and individuals can apply, preference is given to Libyan NGOs or partnerships that build capacity with Libyan NGOs and plan for sustainable local management. Proposals should target geographically and demographically diverse audiences within Libya.
