Description
The Nebraska Department of Transportation is seeking qualified consultants to perform statewide underwater bridge inspections for approximately 168 local and state bridges and eight Missouri River bridges. The work includes Level I inspections for each bridge, Level II inspections for up to 10% of bridges, and additional Level II or Level III inspections when directed by the Department. Consultants must perform probing for channel-bottom scour and deterioration of riprap or other countermeasures; Missouri River bridge work also includes surveying the river channel bottom approximately 200 feet upstream and downstream and producing one-foot contour maps. The selected consultant must provide qualified inspection and diving crews, including a main diver, safety diver, team leader, and quality-control reviewer, and must meet Nebraska bridge-inspection, OSHA commercial-diving, National Bridge Inspection Standards, and related training requirements. The scope includes use of the NDOT version of BrM software, bridge-data updates within 30 calendar days of inspection, underwater inspection reports within 90 calendar days, inspection photographs, plans and elevations, channel cross-section information, dive logs, procedures, and risk assessments. Services are to be performed from July 1, 2027, through October 31, 2027.
