Description
Metra is soliciting bids for the design, manufacture, testing, and delivery of fixed passenger seat assemblies for Push-Pull and EMU gallery cars. The scope includes seat frames, cushions, upholstery, armrests, beverage holders, ticket holders, jump seats, pedestals, sidewalls, handgrips, and low-level exit-path marking. Seats must satisfy specified dimensional, weight, safety, fire-resistance, toxicity, corrosion-resistance, durability, accessibility, and ergonomic requirements, including applicable Federal Railroad Administration and American Public Transportation Association standards. The contractor must submit designs, drawings, test plans, test reports, quality documentation, facility information, and a manufacturer’s quality-assurance plan/manual. The work includes first-article inspection, strength and dynamic testing, lifecycle testing, upholstery and corrosion testing, maintenance manuals, and delivery of complete car sets. The bid package requires applicable certifications and affidavits, a signed contract signature page, a completed price list, a Buy America certificate when applicable, and a fully completed U.S. DOT prime-subcontractor list. The contract is for three years and is not to exceed $29,000,000; estimated quantities are not a commitment to purchase. Delivery is to Metra at 147 W. 47th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60609.
