Description
DeSoto Parish School District is soliciting proposals for Category 1 E-Rate services consisting of a fiber-based wide area network and Internet access. The District seeks managed or unmanaged leased lit fiber or dark fiber solutions connecting 13 eligible entities, with proposed WAN options of 20, 40, and 100 Gbps and resilient alternatives. The network must provide dedicated, full-bandwidth, 24/7 connectivity, support multiple protocols and quality-of-service tagging, and include all necessary E-Rate-eligible hardware and interfaces. Proposals must identify equipment make and model, network designs and fiber routes, site handoff requirements, space requirements, support and outage-escalation procedures, and performance metrics including 99.999% uptime, jitter, latency, and endpoint testing. The District also requests pricing for 10-Gbps and 20-Gbps Internet access with a /27 IP block at each of two data centers. The selected provider must support E-Rate billing requirements, provide installation and initial configuration, and target a fully operational network by July 1, 2027. The RFP states that the contract will be multi-year with two-year extensions, although the final agreement length may be revised before award.
