Description
The State of Utah Division of Facilities Construction and Management is soliciting a low bid for turnkey modernization of one existing south hydraulic passenger elevator at Utah Valley University's UCCU Event Center. The work includes engineering, equipment, labor, permits, removal and replacement of the power unit, controller, doors, door operator, signal fixtures, car operating panels, hall stations, position indicator, communication system, wiring, lighting, and related machine-room, hoistway, pit, painting, patching, and electrical work. The elevator serves four stops, has a 5,500-pound capacity, and operates at 100 feet per minute. The contractor must provide a one-year warranty with weekday daytime callback service, perform required testing and inspections, provide as-built wiring diagrams and other closeout materials, and complete the work by March 12, 2027. The solicitation requires a 5% bid bond, performance and payment bonds for the full contract price, specified insurance coverage, attendance at a mandatory pre-bid meeting, and submission of the DFCM subcontractor list. The hazardous-materials survey reported no asbestos-containing materials and no lead-based paint in the surveyed areas, but identified fluorescent bulbs and PCB ballasts requiring removal and disposal before demolition.
