Description
The NunatuKavut Community Council is accepting applications through the George Roberts Community Grant Program for events, activities, and initiatives commemorating the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Proposed projects should promote awareness, healing, reflection, and understanding of the impacts and intergenerational effects of residential schools, including through cultural activities such as on-the-land activities, arts and crafts, music, language and storytelling, food preparation, and ceremonies or gatherings. Eligible applicants include schools, nonprofit groups, community organizations, town councils, and local service districts. Grants of up to $1,000 are available, with one grant awarded per community. Applicants must complete the provided application form, including organization, project, partner, and budget information. A final report with available photos and receipts is due after the project.
