Description
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is soliciting bids for the as-needed excavation, loading, weighing, removal, hauling, and recycling or disposal of water treatment process solids (sludge) generated at the Robert A. Skinner Treatment Plant. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, trucks, transportation, temporary holding areas, permits, and disposal or recycling arrangements; obtain approval for proposed recycling, reuse, and disposal plans; and be prepared to remove up to 140 tons per day. Estimated annual volume is 6,000 tons, although actual quantities may vary. The contractor must respond within 24 hours for solids loaded from the concrete pad and begin basin removals within one week of notice. The bid requires online pricing and supporting materials, including an executive summary letter, supplier information, four recent project references, a methodology worksheet, a conflict-of-interest statement, and acceptance of Metropolitan's standard terms and conditions. Insurance is required, including general liability and automobile liability limits of $5,000,000, workers' compensation and employer's liability coverage, professional liability, crime and dishonesty coverage, and pollution legal liability as applicable. Attendance at the mandatory job walk is required for bid eligibility.
