Description
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking applications for the Fiscal Year 2026 Tribal Wildlife Grants (TWG) Program. This program provides technical and financial assistance to federally recognized Tribes for the development and implementation of projects that benefit fish, wildlife, and their habitats. Funding can be used for conserving any plant or animal species of interest to a Tribe, including those of cultural or traditional importance. Eligible activities include planning, conservation and management actions, research, habitat mapping, surveys, and conservation education. Funds can cover salaries, equipment, consultant services, subawards, materials, and travel costs. Real property acquisition is not an eligible expense. Applicants must be federally recognized Tribal governments and meet all reporting requirements for previously awarded grants. There are limits on the total federal request per Tribe per fiscal year, and subrecipients must comply with all requirements. The estimated total program funding is $6,200,000, with awards ranging from $25,000 to $200,000.
