Description
The United Nations Development Programme seeks an individual consultant to develop and implement sustainable, profitable ecotourism strategies for protected areas and potential Other Effective area-based Conservation Measures (OECMs). The work includes reviewing relevant policies and regulations; assessing tourism potential, infrastructure, accessibility, and markets; consulting with stakeholders; and preparing and validating strategies. The consultant will also support pilot tourism activities with Indigenous and Tribal Peoples and develop marketable, eco-friendly tourism products, activities, and implementation recommendations. The assignment is for 25 working days within a four-month period, with a possible extension. Required proposal materials include a completed offer letter and financial breakdown, a CV and diploma, and a brief motivation and methodology. The consultant must have a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent, at least five years of relevant experience, and full proficiency in Dutch and English and verbal proficiency in Sranan.
