Description
The Town of Canton is soliciting bids for renovation of the Armory Community Center at 71 Penland Street. The project includes selective demolition; concrete floor removal and replacement; masonry maintenance, repair, and infill; structural steel and metal fabrication; carpentry; thermoplastic polyolefin roofing and rigid insulation; aluminum-framed entrances and storefronts; doors and hardware; finishes; food service and gymnasium equipment; plumbing, HVAC, electrical, communications, fire alarm, emergency response, paving, and site utilities. Addendum No. 3 clarifies that a fire protection tank is not required; the Room 104 void is to be backfilled with gravel and receive a slab on grade; only the truss nearest the main entrance requires reinforcement; masonry infill and polymer sealer are part of the base bid; Davis-Bacon compliance management is required without certified payroll reporting for every tier unless directed; and AISC certification may be waived if specified mill certificates and welding certifications are submitted. The addendum also adds a sewer backwater valve as Alternate 3, approves Viega ProPress as an equivalent water-piping system subject to review, revises roofing, storefront, and door-hardware requirements, and identifies Sika Sikaplan Universal-60 EnergySmart as an approved roofing equal.
