The Naval Service Training Command requires 2,500 12-inch brushed aluminum arms parallel rules for use in navigation sections of Naval Science courses serving more than 600 NJROTC and NNDCC units. The specified Weems & Plath instrument is required, and no substitute instrument will satisfy the agency's requirements; the manufacturer will sell to third-party vendors for resale.
