Description

The City of Santa Monica is soliciting proposals from eligible nonprofit organizations for programs that address documented community needs among vulnerable and low-income residents. Eligible services include housing and homelessness prevention, case management, workforce development, financial stability, child care subsidies, legal services, domestic-violence intervention, services for older adults and people with disabilities, behavioral and physical health care, food assistance, and immigration-related services. Programs must use best practices or evidence-based approaches, serve eligible Santa Monica Program Participants, coordinate with other agencies, and define measurable outputs and outcomes. Approximately $9 million in annual grant funding is projected to be available. Grant agreements are planned for four years, from July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2031, with annual funding contingent on available funds, satisfactory performance, outcomes, and City Council approval. Each proposal must include a completed cover page, program plan, program budget/demographics/performance workbook, eligibility documentation, organizational and staffing materials, equity policies and procedures, audited financial statements for the three most recent fiscal years, program monitoring reports for the two most recent fiscal years, and other applicable certifications or supporting documents. Applicants must choose either a 30% cash-match option or a living-wage option for eligible staff.
