Description
North East Independent School District is soliciting proposals for a full-service district-wide snack vending program. The awarded contractor must provide new or reconditioned, energy-efficient vending machines with bill changers, card readers, and USDA-compliant lockouts or timers; deliver and install the machines; stock approved snack products; maintain nutrition labels and obtain approval for products; and remove the machines when the contract ends. Beverage products are excluded from the solicitation, although food vending machines are requested at two large-meeting facilities for items such as sandwiches, soups, burritos, and other meal products. The contractor will be responsible for stocking, cleaning, repairs, preventative maintenance, refunds, money collection, product recalls, and service calls throughout the district. Service calls generally must be addressed within 24 hours, and machines that cannot be returned to service within three business days may need replacement. The proposal must address pricing and commission schedules, incentives, a sample monthly vending activity report, proposed snack products and nutrition labels, machine specifications, three similar-project references, and required compliance, insurance, tax, conflict-of-interest, hold-harmless, fingerprinting, and vendor forms. The contract is anticipated to have an initial three-year term with two additional one-year renewals, for a maximum of five years.
