Description
The Department of State's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs is seeking a Criminal Justice Advisor for its office at the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, Colombia. The advisor will design, implement, monitor, and evaluate criminal deterrence and law enforcement programs; manage assistance to Colombian justice and law enforcement institutions; advise on criminal justice, illicit finance, anti-corruption, and transnational organized crime; and coordinate with Colombian officials, U.S. government agencies, multilateral organizations, and implementing partners. The role also includes oversight of contracts, grants, interagency agreements, and letters of agreement; policy analysis and strategic planning; reporting and metrics; high-level visit coordination; and serving periodically as deputy or acting division chief. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and meet specified education and professional experience requirements, including experience with foreign assistance, criminal justice or law enforcement, Latin America, anti-money-laundering programs, strategic advice to senior U.S. government leaders, metrics and evaluation, and professionally proficient Spanish. A Department of State Secret-level security clearance, medical clearance, and ethics clearance are required if applicable, with a possible upgrade to Top Secret. The contract has a 12-month base period from award and four optional one-year extensions, with compensation listed at $102,409 to $150,391 annually.
