Description
The University of Washington's Alliance for Professional Development, Training and Caregiver Excellence is establishing an Experts by Experience Council to support child-welfare curriculum development, curriculum revision, conference planning, and related programmatic efforts. The council will provide lived-experience insights and guidance, participate in virtual meetings, review materials, and potentially join individually assigned curriculum-development workgroups. Applicants must have qualifying Washington child-welfare experience, such as experience as a birth or first parent, foster or kinship caregiver, youth or alumni of foster or licensed-relative placement, fictive kin in Tribal communities, a person connected to Tribal child-welfare systems, or a legal guardian. Applicants must also have reliable internet, phone and computer access; maintain confidentiality; support diversity and inclusion; and be willing to learn relevant policies and laws. The requested commitment is 12 or 18 months ending June 30, 2027, with up to 36 hours of collaboration available but not guaranteed.
