Greene County is applying for Federal Transit Administration financial assistance for public mass transportation route-deviation service on a continuing basis within Greene County and portions of Columbia County, New York. The project will serve the general public during operating hours and includes eligible operating expenses for transit service, as well as capital expenses for bus purchases and mobility management services. Human service agencies, private bus and taxi operators, and other public transportation providers are invited to comment, participate in service coordination, request the project service description, and submit written proposals for service coordination. The notice states that interests, comments, proposals, or requests must be submitted in writing within fourteen days of publication and that comments must also be provided within fourteen days of receiving the project service description. Expected funding is $1 million to $2 million annually for fiscal years 2027–2029.
