Description
The Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles seeks a supplier for monthly deliveries of fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh eggs, buttermilk, and juice to its Prep Center. Produce must meet freshness and food-safety standards, be packaged in clean, sanitary containers, and be handled appropriately during transportation. Deliveries are due the next business day after the supplier receives a purchase order; rush orders must also be accommodated upon request, and proof of delivery is required. The supplier must provide itemized quotes and invoices, and the agency may reject substandard produce and require replacement at no additional cost. The agreement is capped at $25,000 and may run for up to five years, structured as a 12-month initial term with four possible 12-month extensions. Bidders enter a percentage discount for the applicable item categories in the online item grid. Outsourcing is not permitted; the standard terms also require written approval from the Chief Procurement Officer before any assignment or subcontracting. Commercial general liability insurance covering product liability and delivery incidents is required.
