The U.S. Embassy in Zambia is soliciting proposals for a cooperative agreement to manage and disburse funds for its American Spaces program. This program aims to foster interaction and promote understanding between local audiences and the United States through various themes such as freedom of speech, digital rights, American history, and technology. The American Spaces program is administered by the Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) of the U.S. Embassy Zambia and operates three locations: the American Center for Leadership in Lusaka, the American Corner at the National Institute for Public Administration in Lusaka, and the American Corner at Copperbelt University in Kitwe. This initiative also serves as a platform for "Freedom 250," a U.S. government initiative commemorating the 250th anniversary of American independence. The program will engage U.S. exchange alumni to design and implement projects with a Freedom 250 nexus, focusing on themes like technology, trade, free speech, entrepreneurship, and cultural expression. Award recipients are required to incorporate "Freedom 250" branding in their program materials and activities.
