Description
This solicitation is for the procurement of stems for size 1/2 inch ball valves. The material must comply with Newport News drawing 255587, piece 18, and specifically QQ-N-286, Form 2, Annealed and Age Hardened. Weld repair is not permitted on QQ-N-286 material. Quantitative chemical and mechanical analysis, along with ultrasonic inspection on starting material, are required. The Slow Strain Rate Tensile Test must be performed by one of the listed approved laboratories. A Certificate of Compliance is mandatory, certifying that the furnished items meet all contract requirements, including specifications and drawings. The contract will be rated for national defense use under the Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS).
