Description
The State of Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is soliciting a contractor to grow 10,000 native shrub seedlings from seeds supplied by the agency. The seedlings comprise Wyoming big sagebrush, mountain big sagebrush, and antelope bitterbrush for three wildlife management areas in Cache and Weber Counties, Utah. Plants must be grown in PL 50 plugs, have roots that hold the soil together, reach at least 6 inches above the soil surface, and be protected with Vexar mesh tubes extending 8 inches above the soil. Seeds must be started no later than March 15, 2027. Seedlings must be ready for pickup beginning October 15, 2027, with batch pickups potentially continuing through November 30, 2027, and postponement permitted until April 1, 2028 based on soil conditions. The contractor must accommodate two or three pickup dates by project location. Pricing is per seedling, and shipping or delivery per seedling must be included if the nursery is more than 120 miles from the UDWR office in South Ogden. The award is anticipated to be a single contract to the lowest-cost responsive and responsible bidder.
