Description
Sussex County EMS is soliciting proposals for the purchase and complete upfitting of eight 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup trucks with 6.5-foot beds. The scope includes installation and programming of custom bed caps, HVAC systems, auxiliary batteries and power systems, electric locks, lighting, sirens, communications equipment, consoles, tablet and modem mounts, jump-start equipment, storage and safety accessories, and related wiring and controls. The vendor must pick up the vehicles, perform the conversion work, provide required documentation and testing, and deliver the completed vehicles to Sussex County EMS. The bid requires pricing for the upfit, delivery, and related costs, along with delivery time and model-year ordering cutoff information. The solicitation evaluates total price, technical understanding, relevant experience and past performance, and access for County inspections. Vendors must provide three references for similar upfits. The contract is valid from award through June 30, 2027, and completed vehicles are generally due within 90 days after the vendor is notified that a vehicle is available for pickup. Required insurance includes commercial general liability, business auto liability, workers’ compensation and employers’ liability, and personal property in transit or motor truck cargo coverage.
