Description
The USDA Agricultural Research Service requires construction to demolish an existing low water crossing and construct a replacement across an intermittent drainage swale. The work includes a new embankment with precast concrete box culverts, cast-in-place concrete aprons, headwalls, wing walls, and parapets; a concrete driving surface; aggregate roadway surfacing tying into the existing roadway; and 24-inch riprap revetment along the slopes and channel. The contractor must also remove existing corrugated metal pipes, demolish portions of the existing concrete roadway, perform earthwork and erosion control, install traffic signage, and restore disturbed areas. The quotation must include pricing for the base item and provide technical experience for three similar projects completed within the past five years, past-performance information for three similar projects completed within the past five years, and an explanation of how the work will be completed within the required performance period. The acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside and is expected to result in one firm-fixed-price contract. A mandatory site visit is scheduled, and the contractor must submit required safety, quality-control, waste-management, construction, and closeout submittals during performance.
